ACT
Focus Areas

Four focus areas. One mission.

ACT's work concentrates inside four focus areas — Education, Environment, Health and Women. Each focus area runs its own thesis, deploys its own capital, and convenes the founders, funders and government partners who can move that part of the system. The page below lets you click into any focus area to read the full thesis, the pillars we invest behind and the portfolio we have built there so far.

ACT For Education

ACT For Education backs founders building affordable, accessible and high-quality learning solutions for the bottom three quartiles of India — the millions of children and young adults who sit outside the reach of premium private education. Our thesis is simple: a child's learning outcomes should not be a lottery of where they were born or how much their family earns, and technology — when designed carefully and deployed through public systems and trusted intermediaries — can change that.

ACT For Environment

ACT For Environment catalyses innovation across decarbonisation, water security, the circular economy and climate adaptation. India is uniquely placed: it must lift hundreds of millions of people out of energy poverty while staying inside a planetary carbon budget. We back founders building the hardware, software and natural-systems solutions that make both possible — and we convene the Green Startup Pledge, a founder-led commitment aligning startup operations with the UN net-zero 2050 ambition.

ACT For Health

ACT For Health backs solutions that bridge access and affordability gaps across primary care, non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis elimination and mental health. India's public health system is the largest in the world by population covered — and the most leveraged surface for tech to make a measurable difference in outcomes. We invest in founders building tools, devices and platforms that strengthen frontline workers and reach the patients hardest to serve.

ACT For Women

ACT For Women uses data, technology and patient capital to close gender gaps across the workforce, entrepreneurship and care infrastructure. India's female labour-force participation has been stubbornly low for decades — moving it even a few percentage points would unlock trillions of rupees of economic value and reshape household incomes. Our work spans the full lifecycle, from menstrual health and safety to entrepreneurship, jobs and digital identity.
